Above is a picture which represents two values I cherish. It is shot with an old Nokia Lumia 800 which is one of the earliest smartphones of it's day carrying a very simple camera. It was the only shot I managed that looked anything like it in terms of color rendition, mood set, scenery, angles, all combined. Although I also had my semi-pro Nikon DSLR which I also took muliple shots with, this was the only shot I  liked, because it was shot at the right moment. That is the essence of photography; The timing.

The bridge is the Salginatobel Bridge in Switzerland designed by Robert Maillart in the 1920's. It is a three hinge arc bridge and is a pioneering landmark as well as one of the worlds most elegant structures, because of the uncompromising slender shape of the arc. It serves as a reminder of what is important in design, just as is true for photography:;The understanding of the synergies of the materials, the gear and conditions at hand, and how to utilize it the most.
